The Silenced Voice

Taking a much-needed reprieve from their world tour, Gatti Bianchi, the hot new rock band from Pleasantview, sat relaxing in a European nightclub. For over six months, the group had been performing night after night to sell-out screaming fans and there appeared to be no end in sight. As they sipped their drinks, they discussed some of the hardships they were currently facing and what they might be able to do to relieve some of the tension.

On the club stage, a local band played while patrons jived on the dance floor. While watching them perform, Noelle Wolosenko, Gatti Bianchi's manager, proposed the idea that maybe they should become producers helping smaller bands make it big like they had.

"We're not going to be number one on the charts forever," Noelle informed her sisters. "The fans will always be looking for the next big thing. While our ticket sales show no sign of letting up, out record sales have already started to decline. We have enough money that we would never need to make another record or perform another concert. But if we are going to remain in the industry we are going to have to come up with the next big sound, or start producing the next hot band to come along."

As if in response to Noelle's comment, the club deejay announced that the hottest band from Japan , Gemini Trio, was performing next onstage. The girls of Gatti Bianchi watched with great interest as Gemini Trio performed, and soon found themselves up on the dance floor with the crowd cheering them on. Noelle slipped off briefly during their set to pass a note to the club owner that she wished to invite Gemini Trio over to their table when they were finished.

After their performance, Gemini Trio graciously accepted the invitation and introduced themselves properly.

"We are thrilled and honored to meet the world famous Gatti Bianchi," acknowledged the young woman in purple. "I am Haburi Tekudo, and these are my sisters Yuumei, in green, and Tomi in orange."

"It is a pleasure to meet you all," responded Noelle. "We are honored you accepted our invitation to join us. Is this your first venture out of Japan ? Have you started to make it big outside of your country? We would also be honored if we could help you in any way of achieving that goal."

"We are not big in the world like you are," Haburi replied. "But we will soon be thanks to you. But not they way I bet you are expecting."

Without warning, Haburi pulled out what appeared to be a camera. However, as she pressed the trigger, a strange strobe light effect appeared shortly blinding Gatti Bianchi. When they could finally see again, the first thing they noticed was Gemini Trio had disappeared. Then Claire noticed Opal nearly gasping in her chair. The girls got up to try and help her, but soon discovered Opal couldn't talk.

Starting to realize something was amiss, Noelle got with the club owner and they attempted to search for Gemini Trio. Even with the help of the local authorities, they could find no trace of Gemini Trio. Noelle returned to join her sisters and informed them she had postponed the tour until Opal had an examination by a doctor and was able to recover.

The doctors' examinations were not very helpful. They could find nothing physically wrong with Opal and the best they could suggest was that rest was in order and that her voice would probably return over time. Several weeks passed while Noelle dealt with upset venue owners, yet Opal showed no signs of recovery. Noelle decided it was time to ask her friends at Team Rainbow Super Force for help, and was soon walking through the front doors of the East Side Center.

It wasn't long before Noelle found herself talking with her old friend Ebon Huntress. Ebon explained that she would be happy to help anyway she could, but that if the best doctors in the world weren't able to do anything, there was little chance they would find a cure. As they continued to catch up, Noelle remarked how impressed she was with the new facility. It wasn't long before Ebon insisted she give Noelle a personal grand tour.

While walking around the facility, Noelle heard a person singing from one of the far rooms. Upon investigation, she found herself in a room with a young woman reciting while Emerald Guardian played the piano. Noelle had never heard such a beautiful voice and asked Ebon who she was.

Ebon introduced Choral Blush to Noelle and explain she was one of Team Rainbow's newest members. Noelle suddenly came up with an idea and asked Ebon if it would be possible to have Choral join Gatti Bianchi for a couple of performances to attempt to draw out Gemini Trio. Ebon agreed to the proposal and requested a schedule of the venues Gatti Bianchi would be performing so they could attempt to nab Gemini Trio in the act.

Noelle escorted Choral back to Gatti Bianchi's mansion. Choral was amazed at the size, since it was nearly as large as the East Side Center. Noelle informed Choral that after she introduced her to the rest of the girls and explained her plan, she would have a couple of them find an appropriate outfit to wear.

Shortly after introductions, Erika and Tinalena announced they had a surprise visitor as well. Walking into the next room, Erika introduced Daphne Brody, Erika and Tinalena's cousin, who was visiting from college break. They also indicated that Daphne was a deejay and could add a new sound and dimension that was missing from Gatti Bianchi's current lineup.

Daphne proceeded to demonstrate her skills using a mixture of current Gatti Bianchi hits while mixing in on the fly a variety of other sounds. Noelle was impressed and agreed that she should join Gatti Bianchi as well, provided it didn't interfere with her schoolwork.

Days passed as Noelle kept up with Gemini Trio's progress on the charts. They had rapidly moved up in rankings and were quickly becoming the hottest new act in the states. Noelle could sense that their confrontation was near.

With the addition of their two new members, the girls of Gatti Bianchi practiced daily to integrate the new sounds into their classic hits.

It wasn't long before Gemini Trio was going to be doing a performance in Pleasantview. Noelle invited Ebon Huntress over to discuss their plan to apprehend the trio.

The night arrived at Le Club de Chats, one of Pleasantview's upscale nightclubs. Fans were lining up around the building each one hoping for just a glimpse of the new pop band as they arrived.

It wasn't too long before a limousine pulled up and the girls of Gemini Trio exited their chariot. They paused outside the door to wave and blow kisses to their cheering fans.

Suddenly, Noelle busted through the crowd and rushed up to confront Gemini Trio, accusing them of stealing Opal's voice. The girls of Gemini Trio simply stared back at her and laughed saying they couldn't be responsible for Gatti Bianchi's shortcomings.

Sensing a fight was about to break out, the club's owner, Charise Wun Yah, stepped up between the groups and suggested that they hold a band-off and to let the fans decide who was the better group. Gemini Trio smugly agreed believing they easily would be the victors.

Gemini Trio took the stage and gave a performance that had the crowd on their feet screaming for more. As the group left the stage, they gave the girls of Gatti Bianchi a smug look, daring them to beat their performance.

Gatti Bianchi took the stage and took off with a bang. Within minutes, the crowd was screaming so loud Charise thought the noise would blow the roof off. By the end of their performance, it was clear with the new sounds added by Daphne and Choral that Gatti Bianchi had clearly won the competition.

After getting off stage, Gemini Trio cornered Choral alone.

"Young lady, you clearly have a voice to die for," Yuumei threatened. "A voice clearly that good should belong to Gemini Trio."

As Gemini Trio began to make their move, Choral unleashed a sonic blast stunning her would be assailants.

Within seconds, several other members of Team Rainbow came out of their hiding spots to apprehend Gemini Trio before they could make another escape. While escorting them outside to the waiting authorities, Emerald Guardian was able to confiscate the device Gemini Trio had intended to use against Choral.

Noelle once again thanked Ebon Huntress for Team Rainbow's assistance. She expressed her sorrow that Choral wouldn't be able to stay with the group, but she understood the world needed Choral, and Team Rainbow Super Force, more than she did.

Noelle joined her band mates at a nearby table and started to discuss the need for a new lead singer again. It wasn't long before they all began to take notice of the powerful and aggressive voice of the performer on stage. Noelle was soon thinking that introductions might be in order when she got done.

So concludes the ninth chapter of Team Rainbow Super Force. Stay tuned for Chapter 10: They Don't Just Fight Crime
