The Case of the Illegal Bordello

The day started out like any other day for Captain Crimson. After his usual agonizing morning workout, Violet Haze sent him to patrol the neighborhood. Reluctantly, he agreed. If only to make sure he didn't have to perform any extra training Violet Haze may have in store for him. After all, all training and no play does indeed make a very dull Captain Crimson, or so he told himself.

Strolling through the neighborhood normally isn't very interesting, although it does allow Captain Crimson time to think to himself, most of which is spent counting the number of bad guys he has put away. What he didn't realize was that today, things were going to be different.

While walking past a house, a house he had walked past several times before, an odd tingling sensation formed in the back of his head. Usually that would just be his intuition, or his danger sense, as he liked to call it, warning him something foul was afoot. However, as he stopped to look at the house for a moment, he saw nothing out of the ordinary. By all appearances, this was just an ordinary house, just like the dozens of other houses he passed by every time he was on patrol.

Returning to The Bunker, the headquarters of Team Rainbow Super Force, he located Violet Haze in the garden to report the status of his patrol. Violet Haze was pleased with Captain Crimson's attention to detail, despite being void of anything overtly unusual. Violet Haze paid particular attention to the feeling Captain Crimson had walking by one particular house. After reviewing the details of the report, Violet Haze decided he would go investigate this house himself.

Arriving at the house in question, Violet Haze took a few moments to examine the area. Everything looked normal as far as he could tell. However, Captain Crimson's track record on hunches was nearly spotless. Considering this, he decided to go inside and investigate further.

Walking through the main foyer of the house, Violet Haze still couldn’t spot anything out of the ordinary. Other than maybe the owners should attend to some minor cleaning, everything appeared as it should. Food was on the table, books were on the shelves, and the kids were playing in their room. All in all, it seemed to be a perfectly normal house. Except for the odd sounds he could hear coming from the upper floor. As he was here to investigate, Violet Haze headed upstairs to locate the source of these odd sounds.

The second floor was immensely different from the rest of the house. An almost musky odor lingered in the air, mixed with the fragrance of incense and scented candles. However, what was even stranger to find, thought Violet Haze, was several scantily clad individuals. The room wasn't any warmer than the rest of the house, so there seemed to be no reason in his mind for them to be dressed this way.

Heading back downstairs, Violet Haze sought out the owner of the house. An android, it turned out, owned the establishment. Although not quite as sophisticated as his teammate the Chromed Avenger, she was still a sentient being who had come to this world to establish a new life. She explained to Violet Haze that these were special guests that lived in her house, and that they performed special services to those willing to pay. When he asked what these special services were, she simply responded that he should simply hand over some money and find out, and then she changed the subject and started talking about sumo wrestling.

Deciding he better continue to do what he came here to do, Violet Haze walked back upstairs to talk with the guests. A young woman by the name of Donna introduced herself and asked Violet Haze if there was anything she could do for him. He simply replied that he came up for whatever service she could offer him. After naming the prices, he decided that the most expensive service was probably the best service, and he should settle for nothing less than the best service. He handed over the money to Donna, who then took him by the hand and led him into a nearby hot tub.

Despite not understanding what getting into a hot tub would accomplish, Violet Haze joined her figuring he wasn't going to get any information unless he followed Donna's lead. Add to the fact that his morning workout had been extra strenuous, and he had planned on relaxing for a bit in the hot tub back at The Bunker, now seemed as good a time as any.

Seeming to avoid the subject of service, Violet Haze discovered that Donna was quite the friendly conversationalist. He also found that she was well versed in many areas of interest, but intrigued him by how much she admired him.

Suddenly, Donna removed all her clothing and jumped on top of Violet Haze, catching him off guard. He struggled with her carefully, trying not to cause her any serious harm.

His resistance only seemed to excite Donna even further. She leapt on top of him, and soon he felt she was threatening his life, as it appeared she was trying to drown him in the hot tub. Then suddenly, he felt her hands moving up his legs and he realized what was really going on. Using just enough of his strength to force her off, Violet Haze exited back out of the hot tub, politely thanking yet declining Donna for her services, and then headed back downstairs to find the owner.

Finding the owner, Violet Haze confronted her as to why didn't she just explain to him what services her guests provided. To his surprise, the android remained silent and seemingly unwilling to provide any information.

Many hours had passed since his arrival at the house. Since the owner was unwilling to provide any further information, Violet Haze figured it was best to head back to The Bunker and bring this house to the attention of Ebon Huntress, as well as having Chromed Avenger start going through the computer banks for any additional information Team Rainbow would need before deciding a course of action. On his way out, he noticed several other citizens entering and exiting the house, and began to wonder, just how many people knew about this place.

Back at The Bunker, Violet Haze described the incident to Ebon Huntress. She asked him if he had ever encountered anything like this before. "Of course," he replied. "When I was just a ground pounder, there were many times after a hard conflict where I would go to such places. However, they were always very clearly marked, so that you knew what you were getting into. It's just that, I always thought these things were illegal on this planet."

"Not so," Ebon Huntress informed. "Although your overall experience is a bit troubling. Especially considering the owner was not forth coming with answers." She then confirmed that Violet Haze should indeed have Chromed Avenger run a background check, given the fact that the proprietor was a similar being.

While Violet Haze went off to track down Chromed Avenger, Ebon Huntress stopped into the break room where she caught up with Emerald Guardian and Captain Crimson.

"Whoa!" exclaimed Captain Crimson. “Is that what was in there? I knew I should have gone in and checked it out myself." Ebon Huntress flashed a rather irate gaze upon him, and Captain Crimson realized he should remain silent and go back to drinking his coffee. Emerald Guardian smiled quietly to himself as Ebon Huntress explained how Violet Haze was sure to have Chromed Avenger doing his background check by now.

Indeed the Chromed Avenger was well into his search of computer records. It didn’t take him long to find the relevant information. He quickly discovered the owner of the establishment was Cindy Sexbot, a rising starlet in the adult film industry. He also noted by her designation that she was a pleasure droid. Therefore, it was no surprise that she would be running an establishment characteristic to her programming. There was certainly nothing illegal about her choice of employment, but he discovered that she didn’t have a license to operate a bordello out of her house.

Chromed Avenger tracked down Ebon Huntress and reported his findings. He thought that it was odd that she just simply didn’t have a license to run this establishment, simply because someone in her position would be able to get it easily. Chromed Avenger was simply at a loss to explain how this could be.

Unbeknownst to either Ebon Mistress or Chromed Avenger, Captain Crimson was out in the hallway and overheard the entire conversation. Figuring he was the one who first discovered this anomaly, he should also lead the follow up investigation, and promptly headed over to Cindy Sexbot’s residence.

Having arrived at the house, Captain Crimson was greeted by April, Cindy’s daughter. April was very friendly and was happy to talk to Captain Crimson, and she quickly ushered him into the house were they could discuss the issues that had brought him.

April was very prompt to answer Captain Crimson’s questions. She was very casual in explaining that there was a bordello run out of the house. It was as though it was perfectly normal to be involved with such an operation. When he asked her about having a license, April stated that he would have to talk to her mother about that.

Meanwhile, back at The Bunker, Ebon Huntress, Chromed Avenger and Violet Haze conversed in the briefing room what would be the best course of action to take. Ebon Huntress pointed out that this was not really a serious crime, but it might be a good exercise for the less experienced members how to deal with misdemeanors and minor offenses. Violet Haze agreed and immediately suggested that Captain Crimson should accompany him since he was the one who initially discover the situation. However, when he paged Captain Crimson on the intercom, no reply came. A quick check of the security logs by Chromed Avenger showed that Captain Crimson was no longer on the premises.

Back at the Sexbot residence, Captain Crimson and Cindy, now back from a day on the set, conversed over dinner. Cindy admitted that she didn’t have a permit to run the bordello. However, she countered that if it got out she was running that kind of business it could impair her career outside of the adult industry. Cindy was hoping to one-day break into mainstream acting, and become a world famous actress. She then asked if there was anything she could do so that her extra-curricular activities could remain out of public knowledge, and offered to let Team Rainbow use her services free of charge.

Outraged at such an offer, Captain Crimson scolded Cindy for obviously trying to bribe him. She pleaded that such was not the case, but he would not have anything to do with it, and was going to have to make an example out of the situation.

Using his ability to control fire, he summoned a blaze underneath the table, hoping to burn the place to the ground.

As if in anticipation something like this would happen, Azure Maiden rushed in with the local fire department and quickly extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the house.

After putting out the fire, Azure Maiden led Captain Crimson and Cindy Sexbot outside where Violet Haze was waiting for them. Violet Haze apologized for the rash behavior of his teammate and that when he had been unable to locate Captain Crimson he concluded where he would be and contacted Azure Maiden to stand by with the appropriate personal. However, he pointed out to Cindy that Captain Crimson was essentially correct and that it was inappropriate to have made such an offer. He instructed her to get the proper license to run her business, and he would be checking in 30 days to see if was filed. Reluctantly, Cindy agreed that she would take care of the situation properly.

Once back at the bunker, Ebon Huntress called a meeting in the briefing room to discuss the day’s events. She reminded the less experienced members that it is not always necessary to use such strong tactics when dealing with every situation, but since there was no harm done this time, she would simply leave it as a learning experience.
